Programme

The seminar lasts 3 days with an additional day for field visit.

Two half day plenary sessions are organised, one at the beginning of the seminar on cross-cutting issues and one on the last day, for the adoption of a statement and closing remarks.

11 working sessions are planned to foster discussions on specific aspects. A standard working session will be organised as follows:

  • an introductory speech that would present the overall context of the theme and underpin issues and challenges to be met for a sustainable mountain development; and
  • from 3 to 4 presentations that will consist of studies, success stories or case-studies emphasizing successes and failures as well as lessons learned concerning specific aspects followed by a questions & answers session.

Small rooms will be available in hotels (www.hotelgranddragonladakh.com) as well as at the conference centre to facilitate informal discussions among participants along the seminar.

In addition, space in the conference centre will be available for any organisation willing to present its activities, projects and achievements (if you intend to do so, please contact at the earliest the seminar organizers at info.india@geres.eu).

Please notice that seminar working language will be English.
