A Self Help Group is a local association, most of the time of women, who gather around a saving activity. The money saved is then used to provide loans, within the group or to other villagers, to invest in other income generating activities or in village social actions.
Experience has demonstrated that this organisation can be a particularly efficient tool to empower women and improve families livelihood. It also has an impact on village level, where women, through the group, have more space to express themselves.
The project supports more than 20 SHG in local resources valorisation activities, as vegetable growing under improved greenhouses, wool transformation, apricot and seabuckthorn processing.
